Membership Terms
Edition: October 10, 2026
Invoices and payment methods
After application approval, International Locksmiths Association sends an invoice and payment link by email or SMS. Membership dues can be paid by debit or credit card, Bitcoin (BTC), check, bank transfer or Zelle, following the invoice instructions. Membership is activated only after ILA has received and confirmed payment. Do not submit card numbers, bank credentials or wallet recovery phrases through website forms.
Application and eligibility
Professional membership is intended for adults working in locksmithing, access control or related professional activities. You must provide accurate information, have authority to represent any listed organization and comply with applicable licensing requirements. All applications require ILA approval. Email verification, application approval, payment and professional certification are distinct steps. ILA may request proportionate clarification; do not upload identity documents or confidential customer records through this website.
Annual dues and activation
Annual dues are US$149 per individual professional membership for 12 months, with no application fee. The amount and applicable terms must be disclosed before any payment is requested. Payment is arranged outside this website after application approval; no card details are collected here. Membership becomes active when ILA confirms receipt and records activation. An application or approval alone does not entitle you to describe yourself as an active member.
Renewal and payment records
There is no automatic renewal or recurring charge. Renewals require a new payment and confirmation. A recorded renewal before expiry extends the membership from the current expiry date; a late renewal normally begins when activated. Your profile displays the membership period and recorded payments. Contact ILA about discrepancies before sending a duplicate payment. Administrative records are not a substitute for advice about tax deductibility. ILA does not claim federal charitable tax-exempt status on this website.
What membership includes
Membership supports ILA’s professional resources, education, certification initiatives, advocacy, networking and business support. The member portal provides profile and status management. Membership does not automatically include a certification, a government license, an insurance policy, a background-check endorsement, examination fees or every future course or event. Particular programs may have additional eligibility, capacity limits, schedules and separately disclosed charges.
Cancellation and refunds
Proposed policy for ILA approval: a new member may request a full refund of annual membership dues within 14 calendar days after first activation through the membership category of the contact form. After that period, dues are ordinarily nonrefundable except where required by law, charged in error or otherwise approved by ILA. Separately purchased services are governed by their own terms. Cancelling does not authorize a chargeback based on information known to be false or remove mandatory consumer rights.
Conduct, review and termination
Members must follow the Code of Ethics and keep professional details accurate. ILA may investigate material misrepresentation, misuse of its name or serious conduct concerns. Where appropriate, we will explain the issue and allow a response before a final decision. Immediate restrictions may be necessary for security or serious risk. An affected applicant or member may request reconsideration through the contact form. Ending membership requires stopping representations of active membership and any unapproved use of ILA marks.
Program changes and applicable rights
We may improve or change services, but will communicate material changes affecting a paid term where required. Nothing in these terms removes rights that cannot legally be waived. The Website Terms govern general use, and the Privacy Notice explains personal-data processing. Use the contact form or registered corporate address for questions.
